Free books for children

During lockdown your child is hopefully reading much more than normal, which is fantastic… until you hear those immortal words ‘I’ve read all of my books!’ With the libraries closed, the only alternative might seem to be yet another trip to the Land of Amazon. But before you reach for your bank card, check out these sites which offer free books for children:

·         -The ‘Oxford Owl Library’ is a collection of books, aimed at ages 3-11, which children can read for free. There is a fantastic selection of both fiction and non-fiction titles… some of which are bound to be of interest to even the most discerning reader. Simply register and you’re ready to go. (There's a link to this in the 'websites' section )

·       -  Amazon offers lots of free e-readers including ‘Black Beauty’ and ‘The Jungle Book’ that are out of copyright. Search Amazon’s list of ‘free classics’ and see if anything there takes your fancy.

·        - Amazon’s audiobook seller Audible has released a collection of audiobooks that are free for as long as schools are closed. You don’t even have to register: just click, stream and listen.

Okay, so perhaps you will have to take a trip to the Land of Amazon but at least you might be able to leave your bank card at home 😊 These ideas are taken from moneysavingexpert.com.
