My last blog about free things – ‘Free books for children!’- was a resounding hit, so I’ve decided to do a little round up of some of the best free teaching resources on the web at the moment. I hope you find it helpful:
- BBC Bitesize- all of my pupils and parents know that BBC Bitesize is my all time favourite website for good quality teaching materials. There are videos, detailed explanations, games and quizzes. At the moment, there are new lessons every day for all age groups from Year 1 to Year 10. All free, all fantastic. Find it at: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons
- -Primary Resources- this website is great if your child is working on a specific topic and needs more practice. All of the worksheets are created by teachers and are free to use. There are also power-points explaining topics. It’s a good all-rounder for Y1- Y6. Find it at: www.primaryresources.co.uk
- - www.keystage2maths.co.uk is my new favourite website for maths. Heaps of questions organised by year group and topic. If your child doesn’t understand how to do something, they simply click on the question and a video plays showing them how to do it. Simple and super.
- - Oxford Owl (for home) is at: https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/ This is the same place from which you can get your free e-reading books and it also has lots of other resources, including maths for Years 5 and 6 covering algebra, ratio and scaling.
That’s it for now. Hopefully, these will keep your youngsters occupied until the next batch of freebies appear on the blog. Happy home-schooling everyone 😊
