Easter’s Egg-xcellent Challenge!

It’s Easter time again: birds are singing, lambs are frolicking, daffodils are bobbing their cheery heads in the hedgerows and we are all looking forward to four days of unadulterated chocolate over-indulgence. And so it’s time for our second challenge of the year: vocabulary! SURPRISE!

The children’s next challenge, should they choose to accept it, is to add as many 11+ words and definitions to their word journals as possible. These can come from our ‘word of the day,’ from the skills sheets we do together, the vocabulary cards and/ or the numerous word lists that litter the internet. Once the Easter break is finished and the children return to face-to-face teaching, they should bring their journals to their first session. They will be quizzed on their words and their meanings.

The winner(s) will be announced on Friday 16^th April 2021 and prizes will be given the week after (warning: prizes may contain reading materials AND chocolate- well, it is Easter after all).
