'A Girl Called Owl, Amy Wilson.' A book review by Annabelle.

Written by Annabelle:

The book is a story about a girl (of course named Owl) of about 13 who has a father she doesn't know anything about, a mother who won't tell her anything about her father and a best friend with problems of her own. But then the new kid comes into town and Owl finds out a piece of information about her father. Then things become just a little more full of frost, ice, and magic...

I think it is a good story for readers aged eight to eleven and has some good vocabulary in there as well. It includes lots of fantasy and some real life scenarios as well and is written in the 1st person present tense so you can see exactly how Owl felt in the moment. One thing that didn't appeal to me exactly was how emotional the characters got during the book, and the continuous amount of stress levels keeping high as well. But that's only my opinion so I recommend it as a good read for children who love fantasy, adventure and lots of emotion.
