Hello everyone.
Converting length is an important skill for any child to master. The 11+ requires children to solve word problems involving mixed measures, for example, mm and metres. Before a child can even begin to solve word problems, they must first know how to convert between one unit of length and another.
The following units are the most basic units of length- children must be able to convert them quickly and accurately:
10mm= 1 centimetre (cm)
100cm= 1 metre (m)
1000 m= 1 kilometre (km)
The following games will help your children to revise basic conversions.

Do convert everywhere you go: in the car, on the bus, walking to school. As fast and as often as you can. It's sometimes helpful to get out a ruler and revise by measuring objects around the house accurately- to the nearest mm- this is a skill we often assume that children have mastered but, actually, might be an area for development.
