All about C. Week beginning 8/11/21.
This week's words are:
Confiscate - to take with authority. For example, 'The police confiscated the man's phone.' The police are allowed to take a suspect's posessions, therefore this was done with authority. If taking is done without authority, it is simply stealing.
Crucial - extremely important. 'September is a crucial month for pupils wishing to sit the NHGS exam.'
Corroborate- to support or confirm someone's story. For example, 'The suspect's sister corroborated Alice's story- she confirmed that they spent the evening watching television in her flat.'
Happy learning everyone.
