Calendar fun. Week beginning 22.01.24

Learning to use a calendar correctly is a really important skill. For this week's learn by heart, the children need to learn the '30 days have September...' rhyme off by heart. Their test will involve applying this skill by solving problems with calendars, for example, 'if today is Tuesday the 3rd of December, what date was it last Tuesday...' it's harder than you think. 

For this week's target, please can the children learn the following rhyme by heart: 

30 days have September, 

April, June and November, 

All the rest have 31, 

Except for February, it is the one, 

Which has only 28 days clear, 

And 29 in each leap year. 

The childen need to know, by heart, how many days are in each month and problem solve with this knowledge.
