Competition winners!

Good evening, I'm sure that you are all on the edge of your seats in anticipation. Well, the wait is over and the results are in.

A huge well done to everyone who entered the competition- the standard was extremely high and most children managed to use at least 8 words correctly in context. No mean feat when I only allowed one paragraph of writing!

Stand-out moments:

Sam's newspaper report in which 'two... brutes corroborated each other's stories...'

Alex's lady who, when sat in court, thought she would 'never be elated again.'

Zac's terrifying tale in which he deployed his sister to defend the crucial empire. Honestly Zac, your poor sister!

Issy's story about Ronda and Brenda who didn't quite get the 11+ results they hoped for (this wil certainly not happen)!

Tehzeeb's mysterious Godmother who enchanted her so that she could find out why the teachers were behaving so furtively.

Edie's story about the jewel thieves who were acting very suspiciously.

Jacob's football story- it had never occurred to me that these words went so well with soccer Jacob. You've opened my eyes!

Drum roll please....

Despite the fact that there were only supposed to be 2 winners, 3 of these stories stood out as being worthy of prizes. They each used the words corectly in context and were superby written. So, the winners are:

Isabelle (Oakworth) - honestly, I'm quite terrified. I'm fairly sure that an enchanting monster will stalk through my dreams tonight.

Heidi (Oakworth)- the sweetest story. Well done for making it so festive! Mrs Clause did not believe that Santa had made it the whole way through the present run until his elves corroborated the story.

Iris (The Clockhouse)- what an imagination. Opening a portal to an animee world?

Once again, well done everyone. It was a close call as the standard of entries was very high. The winners will be in the 'Outstanding Gallery' tomorrow and prizes will be delivered as fast as humanly possible!

Our next competition will take place at the end of January. Good job Team Sharp :)
