Homophones #2

More lovely homophones this week. Enjoy :) 

Isle- referring to an island. For example, 'The Isle of Man.' 

Aisle- a pathway in a church or supermarket. For example, 'The vegetables can be found in aisle 7.' 

Vile- extremely unpleasant. 'The man's manners were vile.' 

Phial- a small container which holds liquids, usually related to science. 'Don't touch that phial of mercury, it could burn your hand.' 

New- recently acquired. 'Look at my new boots, aren't they lovely?' 

Knew- past tense of know. 'I knew a man once who could eat a whole jelly fish in one mouthfull.'
