Directions. Week beginning 1.4.24. Year 4.

In these days of Google maps and sat-nav you might wonder why we need to be able to follow and create directions using north, south, east and west. Following a compass and a set of written instructions is an age-old skill that might very well help you if you travel as an adult- there might not be WIFI at the top of Mount Everest so knowing the good old methods might just save your life! In addition to this, the 11+ creators seem to think it's an important skill and so put at least one question into almost every test paper. Try these games to brush up on your explorer skills:

This is a really good target to help you get outside in the sunshine- follow a compass through the woods and see where it leads you, take one on a car journey and note which directions you follow. Whatever you do, have fun!
